You don't need to tell me... Personally, I get it 100%. It gets lonely being all by yourself in this business. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to. But, when I say "talk" I mean real talk... Sometimes it's such an amazing blessing to have someone to talk to who isn't a friend or isn't a family member.
I've been to a therapist once or twice in my life. Not that I was suicidal, but I just had stuff that I needed to talk through with someone. It was basically just a big bag of thoughts, and things that have happened to me over the years that I was carrying around with me, and I needed someone to talk to that could help me logically process this stuff and put the bag down.
Personally, I think it takes a great level of knowledge, strength, poise, self-respect, and humility to say to ourselves "I'm having trouble with something and I don't know what to do. I need help. I don't like where I am and I want to be somewhere better. Somewhere happier. I need to ask someone to help me. I am going to take action with my life and ask someone for help."
I paid $2,000 bucks for about 8 months of counseling in 2014, and in 2023 I paid about $600 bucks for 2 months. That was single-handedly the best money I have ever spent on anything in my life.
2023 was a rough year for me. My best friend died, and I had the scariest medical issues I have ever experienced in my life that didn't make any sense after catching COVID. Honestly, I did not have anyone to talk to, and just to have a non-biased person to speak to I called 988 just to talk to a stranger to vocalize what I needed to say just to get the words out of my mouth to anyone who would listen...
I have several goals for this website, but one of them is in the future I hope I can find a sponsor (or I'll pay for it myself) that will offer free video counseling to Drivers over the road. Again, I have many goals for this website, but out of them, this is one of the main three (3) I want to accomplish.
